Methodology & sources
Fertilizer nutrient = max(0, crop removal − available soil contribution − organic contribution − other credit) ÷ fertilizer recovery fraction.
Soil contribution = laboratory concentration × sampled layer mass in millions of kg/ha × recovery fraction. Organic contribution = application tonnes/ha × nutrient kg/tonne × first-year recovery fraction.
Sources: Timiryazev University balance-method guidance; fertilizer-system practical manual, tables 2, 9 and 10. Removal coefficients are reference averages. The region list follows the reference calculator’s selector.
19 of 38 crop choices have matched removal references. Other crops need explicit expert coefficients. Soil reference gaps remain blank. References for soil P and K recovery apply at the fertility classes stated in the manual; this version does not adjust them automatically for nutrient class, pH, humus, irrigation or weather.
